Tournament Format

The tournament will adhere to the following format:

1. 2 man scramble format  - All players will play in a pairs scamble format

2. Shotgun format - Pairs will start at a designated hole and complete 18 holes

3. Fourball - Players will be grouped in a four ball. However each four ball will consist of 2 separate scramble pairs

4. Ready Golf - We encourage all pairs to communicate and play ‘ready golf’. This means that rather than waiting for the player furthest from the hole to play first every time, if a player is ready to play and has communicated to the group, they can play.

5. Scoring - Players must score for their opposite pair and caddies will verify the score after each hole

6. Pairings - Players are allowed to choose their own pair. Handicaps will ensure fairness of the competition

7. Handicaps - Players will submit their individual handicap.

• Calculate Allowances:

  • Player A (Lower Handicap): Multiply by 0.35

  • Player B (Higher Handicap): Multiply by 0.15

  • Total Handicap: Add the two results together.

• Round: Round the final number to the nearest whole number (e.g. 6.5 becomes 7

• Example Calculation

  • Player A: Handicap 10

  • Player B: Handicap 20

  • Calculation: (10×0.35) + (20×0.15) = (3.5 + 3) = 6.5

  • Team Handicap: 7

Tournament rules

Rules of Golf

1.  All players must follow and adhere to the R&A rules of golf

2. Players can ask caddies for ruling advice before making an action

Rules specific to CAPSTONE Ramadan Masters 2026

1. Out of Bounds - A player who hits the ball out of bounds may make the choice to take a 1 stroke penalty and re-hit the shot (tee shot goes out of bounds, re-hit your third shot off the tee) or drop the ball at the point of entry into the hazard and take a 2 stroke penalty (tee shot goes out of bounds, drop a ball at the point of entry and hit your fourth shot from that point.

2. Double par pick up - Once a player has taken enough shots on the hole to score double par (e.g. 6 shots on a par 3), they must pick up their ball and finish the hole. Their score for the hole will be double par.

3. Pick and place - If the ball is on the fairway, players are permitted to pick and place the ball ensuring a fair lie. The ball must be placed within 6 inches (no closer to the hole) of where it originally had come to rest.

4. No Gimmes - Pair must hole out every hole

5. 6 Drives - Each pair must use a minimum of 6 drives from each player

Range finders - Range finders are permitted in this event
